Transportation

The Hilton San Francisco is situated at a major transportation hub.  Within walking distance of cable cars, buses (MUNI), light rail, trolleys, the subway (BART) and ferries, the hotel makes any number of San Francisco and Bay Area places and attractions within easy reach.  Of course, San Francisco is a wonderful waking town with colorful neighborhoods and famously steep hills that reward you with breathtaking vistas.   The city's numerous bike lanes and scenic routes make San Francisco very bike-friendly.

TAXIS
There are several taxi companies that operate 24/7 in San Francisco. The two largest are Yellow Cab and DeSoto. As an alternative, private limousine service and airport shuttles are available from the hotel.

The standard rate for transfers from the San Francisco Airport to the Hilton San Francisco is approximately $35 -$40 plus gratuity. To Oakland Airport the fare is approximately $50-60 and extra time must be allowed, especially during rush hour, to cross the Bay Bridge.

The Super Shuttle to the San Francisco Airport is $15 ea person and leaves every 15 minutes starting at 4 a.m. until 4 p.m. Super Shuttle fare to the Oakland Airport is $25. No reservations are necessary over the specified time period and passengers need only go to the Mason St. at Ellis St. entrance of the hotel. Passengers traveling beyond those hours should call the concierge. Bulk purchases of the shuttle passes are available for your attendees. Please consult your Catering/Event Manager for a shuttle schedule

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
San Francisco is a transit-first city which means a great deal of effort and planning has gone into making  public transportation a viable alternative. In addition to taxis, the city has a great cable car, subway, light rail, trolley and bus system that is within walking distance of the hotel. Traveling by way of San Francisco's public transit system is the ideal and fun way to explore the city's great neighborhoods, landmarks, parks and fine arts institutions. Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) is an efficient way of expanding your visit to points beyond, including Berkley, Stanford, and the Peninsula to name a few.
